| Perks are in the House |
The House of Field gift bags are getting perky. One
of the lovely parting gifts
for guests at Patricia Field's spring collection
show, part of NYC's Fashion
Week in September, will be Body Perks, the
Minnesota-made nippers. A
Field rep contacted co-creator Lori Barghini about
supplying some for the
bags that will go to "top fashion writers, buyers
and Hollywood people." I
seem to remember Barghini turning down other
requests for free nips, but
she's not blinking at giving at least 350 pairs to
Fields collection. Nobody else
charges. "I verified that with people," said
Barghini. "The PR guy said, I think
this is the thing everybody's going to love the most
in the bag." 'Course if
Barghini wanted to make the Moost of this, she'd
have hooked up with CNN
reporter Jeanne Moos. Moos does some of the funniest
off-beat features on
TV. Lori said Moos was interested but cautious,
saying, I don't know if the
powers that be would let me do this story ... Aw,
grow up. Media
everywhere have done features on Body Perks. And
"Sex and the City," the
HBO show for which Field is costume designer,
wrapped an episode around
the nips.
